What's New in Zenpa
A big wave of improvements: new local connectors, the freedom to ask across all your memories, and a creation hub where you draft emails, messages, tickets, and docs from that same context, without copy-pasting into another AI. Everything still runs private and local on your Mac.
Connect your Mac, locally
Apple Mail and Messages are here. Zenpa can now read from the apps already on your Mac, with no extra accounts to wire up.
- Apple Mail: search across your Mail.app inbox (iCloud, Exchange, IMAP)
- Messages: bring iMessage and SMS conversations into Zenpa's memory
Ask across all memories
You no longer need to pick a project before you ask a question. Set your scope to All memories and Zenpa searches everything it knows: Slack threads, emails, files, tickets, and more, in one grounded answer.
- Start broad, then narrow: ask across your whole work history, then switch to a single project when you want to focus.
- Follow-ups stay in scope: conversations you start from All memories keep searching across projects until you change scope.
- Cycle with a shortcut: press ⌘ , to move through All memories and each project without leaving the chat.
- Citations from everywhere: answers show where each fact came from, whether it was Slack, Mail, Jira, or another connector.
Tip: We still recommend creating projects. They keep related data together and give Zenpa a dedicated workspace for each piece of work.
Press ⌘ , to cycle All memories → each project
Create messages and documents with context
In Actions mode, turn what Zenpa already knows into emails, Slack messages, Jira tickets, and more. Drafts open in the side panel; you refine them in chat.
- One thread, many outputs: file a ticket, message a colleague, and reply to a client without re-explaining yourself or switching apps.
- Add context as you go: bring a memory, email, or an earlier draft into the conversation. Zenpa uses it to improve what it creates next.
- Edit by chatting: ask for a shorter tone or clearer criteria; Zenpa updates the draft as you go.
- Send where it belongs: create in Jira, Slack, Notion, and more, with the right workspace confirmed before anything goes out.
Tip: Press ⌘ . for Actions, share the client email, and ask for a ticket, a Slack, and a reply in one go.
Three modes for every kind of work
Zenpa has three modes. Switch between them with ⌘ . (Ctrl . on Windows):
| Mode | What it does |
|---|---|
| Ask | Grounded answers from your memories and connected tools |
| Chat | Open-ended writing and brainstorming |
| Actions | Draft emails, messages, tickets, and docs from your memories, then refine by chatting |
Projects & onboarding: less setup, more momentum
- Conversational project creation: describe what you're working on, attach files, add people, and watch the project card update as you go.
- Onboarding agent for new users: a dedicated flow explains what Zenpa can do and guides you toward your first project.
- Clearer first-run experience: smoother download progress during setup and clearer copy about what to do next.
- Add people more easily: search for and add people from a project or conversation, with improved keyboard navigation.
Explore your knowledge without leaving the chat
- Knowledge browser in the sidebar: switch between Projects and Knowledge without losing your place.
- Filter by source: tabs let you filter memories by connector (Gmail, Slack, Apple Mail, and more).
- Tabbed side panel: open multiple memories or drafts at once. Close the active tab with ⌘ W.
- Click to explore: tap citations to open memory and entity details.
- Source badges on citations: see where an answer came from at a glance.
