Our Commitment to Privacy
Zenpa is built local-first. Your work content, the messages, files, and emails Zenpa learns from, and the memory it builds from them, stays on your device. This policy explains the limited data we do handle and why.
What Stays on Your Device
Everything Zenpa learns from your connected tools is stored in an encrypted database on your device, and AI processing runs locally by default. We do not access, transmit, or store your files, messages, memory contents, or AI answers on our servers.
Information We Collect
- Account data: your email address and name when you create an account, plus any profile details you choose to add.
- Beta signup: if you join the waitlist, we collect your email address to keep you informed about launches and updates.
- Billing: if you subscribe, payments are handled by our payment provider (Stripe). We store your subscription status, never your card details.
- Connected tools: when you link a service like Slack or Gmail, we store connection metadata such as which service is linked and the permissions you granted. The access tokens themselves stay on your device.
- Usage telemetry: governed by the "Help us improve Zenpa" toggle in Settings (on by default during the beta). When enabled, we receive your questions and technical signals to improve the product, never your answers or memory. You can turn it off at any time.
- Feedback: what you write when you contact us or send feedback. Conversation content is included only if you explicitly choose to attach it.
- Service logs: standard technical logs, including IP addresses, kept for reliability and security and deleted automatically after a limited period.
Website Analytics
We use Google Analytics on this website to understand general usage patterns, such as which pages are visited, for how long, and from which devices or regions.
Google Analytics may collect information such as your IP address, browser type, and device details. We do not use it to identify or track individuals. This service may use cookies and may process data on servers located outside your country, including in the United States. You can opt out using your browser settings or Google's opt-out tool.
How We Use Your Information
- Operate your account, subscription, and tool connections
- Share product news and invite you to try Zenpa early
- Respond to support inquiries and feedback
- Improve the product through the telemetry you allow
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising or profiling.
Third-Party Services
We rely on a small set of providers for essential operations: payment processing, transactional email, hosting and storage, and support ticketing. Each receives only the data needed for its role.
Data Retention and Deletion
Technical logs and telemetry content expire automatically after a limited period. You can delete your account at any time from the app. After an email confirmation, we delete or anonymize eligible server-side account records and request deletion of the applicable billing profile from our payment provider. We and our payment provider may retain limited records where required for legal, tax, fraud prevention, dispute, or regulatory purposes. If you hold a Lifetime license, we retain the information necessary to preserve and restore that entitlement. Data on your device is always under your control.
Your Rights
You can manage your data at any time. This includes the right to:
- Access and update your account information
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Request removal of your email from our Beta list
- Opt out of telemetry and future communications
Policy Updates
This privacy policy may be updated as Zenpa evolves. If changes are significant, we will notify you by email or within the app.
