What's New in Zenpa
This release polishes the day-to-day experience: dark mode and Vault date filters, a smoother onboarding path, and a dictation pill that stays visible wherever you work. Your memories and AI still run private and local on your Mac.
Dark mode and Vault date filters
Zenpa opens in dark mode by default, and the Vault makes it easier to narrow memories by when they happened.
- Dark by default: a calmer look for long sessions, with the same local-first workflow.
- Date filters in Vault: jump to Today, Yesterday, This week, or a custom range when you are catching up.
- Find the right thread faster: combine date with source filters so Ask and browsing stay focused.
Tip: Open Zenpa Vault, set Date to This week, then scan Slack and Mail memories from the last few days.
Better onboarding
Getting set up should feel clear, not sticky. You can skip ahead, resume where you left off, and grant local connector access with clearer prompts.
- Skip when you want: move into the app without finishing every optional step.
- Resume your place: if you leave mid-setup, Zenpa brings you back to the right step.
- Clearer connector permissions: Mail, Messages, Notes, and WhatsApp explain what access is needed and how to recheck it.
Tip: Connect one source first, create a project, then add more connectors when you are ready.
Dictation pill stays on top
When you dictate or take Meeting notes, the pill should stay visible, not disappear behind other apps or Spaces.
- Above other windows: the pill stays in front while you speak.
- Across Spaces: switch desktops without losing the recording controls.
- Still on device: transcription stays local on your Mac.
Tip: Hold fn to dictate into Slack, Mail, or any other app. The pill stays with you until you stop.
