What's New in Zenpa

July 14, 2026·v1.0.43

This release focuses on a smarter Ask that finds the right memories, Local folders with autosync from Finder, and local speech with dictation and Meeting notes. Your memories and AI still run private and local on your Mac.

Ask, improved

Thanks to your feedback and real use cases, Ask now returns better results when you search through your memories. We are continuously improving this, so keep sending feedback. It helps a lot.

  • Better memory recall: Ask surfaces the right threads, decisions, and context from your connected sources with fewer misses.
  • Grounded answers: results stay tied to what Zenpa already knows from your work, not generic guesses.
  • Shaped by you: every report of a miss or a win helps us tighten retrieval for the next release.

Tip: Ask across All memories when you are not sure which project holds the answer, then narrow the scope once Zenpa finds the right thread.

Local folders

A lot of people asked to link a Finder folder directly into Zenpa so they can search what is already on their Mac. This is a first version with autosync. We will keep improving it, so keep sending feedback.

  • Add Folder on any project: open Files & Folders and attach a Finder folder without uploading anything.
  • Autosync: Zenpa keeps the folder in sync while the app runs, so new and updated files stay searchable.
  • Search what is local: Ask and Chat can use those files as knowledge for the project.

Tip: In a project, open Files & Folders, click Add Folder, then Ask about a brief or spec that lives only on your machine.

Dictate anywhere, and Meeting notes

At Zenpa, we believe your voice and your meetings should never have to leave your device for AI to be useful. Most tools send audio to the cloud to transcribe and summarize. That is the wrong tradeoff for work this personal. While we keep supporting your existing tools, we are also building a local alternative you control: dictate into any app, or record a meeting and get a transcript and summary on your Mac.

  • Dictate anywhere: hold fn and speak into Slack, Mail, Zenpa, or any other app. Transcription runs on device, then pastes where you left off.
  • Meeting notes: records, transcribes, and summarizes meetings on your device. Audio and data never leave.
  • Coming next: Zenpa will associate Meeting notes with the right people in your Vault, so conversations stay linked to who was in the room.

Tip: Start a meeting from Home or a project's Meetings tab. When it ends, open the AI summary for overview, decisions, and action items.
